The next morning we awoke the first business was to obtain tourist cards at the migracion office in Ensenada to make our trip legal. These tourist cards are apparently required for travel farther than 70km south of Tijiuana. We waited at the government office which had a bank, a place for fishing license ect...for nearly a half hour before the person was ready to deal with us, It was apparentthat it wasn't an issue that it he was late to work for his government job and did not mind for us to wait longer, I find that pretty interesting but not really a bad thing. And We were off. There is immensely beautiful change in terrain as you can see below, from lushly green mountains out of a town called Santa Tomas to the rough desert full of twenty feet tall cacti.
